MIKE
Waltze

Mike's intense passion of sports and adventure motivated his innovations and love of cinematography. At the age of 18 he moved to Hawaii and pioneered the sport of short board windsurfing, then tow in surfing, then Kitesurfing. During this time, as a professional athlete, Mike was blessed with working with some of the best cinematographers and photographers in action film, and took a keen interest in the camera. He started out as a POV camera man way before the days of GoPro, and was shooting for MTV sports. By the mid 90's mike was directing and editing A TV series for Fox Sports, then ESPN II.

Over the next 20 years, Mike has been flown all over the globe covering countless stories, and events and gatehering content for commercials, documentaries, TV series, and corporate media presentations. His company Waltze Productions ltd. has serviced the Hawaiian islands with media content for the past 25 years, and Mike continues to span the globe with camera in hand.

Waltze's style is best described as both extreme, and cinematic.  Underwater, in the air and extreme action shots are his forte, and Mike has a talent for both getting up close and personal, as well as the nuances of working with long lenses.

As an avid surfer, diver, Paddler and kite-surfer, he spends a lot of time in the ocean and witnesses firsthand how athletes and nature work together. That passion led him to the creation of Namout Island Resort, a retreat he and partners formed in Fiji as an adult playground for ocean enthusiast.
